Terms of Use

Effective date: 24 October 2026 · Version 1.1

1. Parties and subject

This agreement is made between Necessity · officilnecessity0@gmail.com (the "Provider"), which offers the Necessity mobile application (the "App"), and the individual using the App (the "User"). By downloading the App, creating an account or continuing to use it, you accept this agreement.

2. Description of the service

The App provides home stock (pantry) tracking, product entry via receipt and barcode scanning, a meal and calorie diary, recipe discovery and sharing, a shopping list, water tracking and AI-based nutrition estimates from meal or nutrition label photos. Barcode and receipt images are processed on your device; only the decoded text and barcode number are sent to the server.

3. Health notice

Calorie, macronutrient and target values in the App are estimates provided for general information. They are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Basal metabolism and daily energy needs are calculated with the Mifflin–St Jeor equation and may not reflect individual differences. AI estimates from photos can be wrong; check the result before saving it. You can report a wrong or inappropriate result to us from the result screen.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a chronic condition, a history of eating disorders, or take medication, consult a doctor or dietitian before changing your diet. The App is not designed for people under 18.

4. Account and security

Using the App requires an account; your records are tied to it and sync across the devices you sign in on. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that takes place in your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your data from our servers.

5. User content

You retain your rights in the recipe text, photos and products you add. When you share content publicly, you grant the Provider a worldwide, royalty-free and transferable right to display, reproduce and make that content available to other users within the App. This right ends when you remove the content, although it may persist for copies other users obtained beforehand.

6. Product catalogue and your own products

The shared product catalogue is built by the Provider from open sources such as Open Food Facts and its own curation; users cannot write to it directly. When you add a product that is not in the catalogue, it is saved to your own products, visible only to you, and stored on your device and in your account. These records may be reviewed to improve product variety and data accuracy, and information entered consistently by several users may be added to the shared catalogue without any link to your identity. You are responsible for entering accurate information. Daily add and lookup limits apply to limit abuse.

7. Unacceptable use

You may not use the App in breach of applicable law, in a way that infringes the rights of others, to scrape data in bulk with automated tools, to circumvent security measures, or at a volume that disrupts the service. Breaching these rules may result in suspension or closure of your account.

8. Paid features

Calorie tracking, pantry, recipes and sharing are free. Receipt scanning is free 15 times per month; use beyond that limit requires a paid subscription. Subscriptions are purchased through Google Play, and cancellation, refund and renewal terms are governed by Google Play policies. Pricing changes are announced in the App before they take effect.

9. Service continuity and changes

The Provider does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. The service may be paused temporarily for maintenance, updates or technical necessity. Material changes to this agreement are announced in the App before taking effect, and your acceptance is requested again.

10. Limitation of liability

The Provider is not liable for decisions made in reliance on the App’s nutrition estimates, for errors in third-party data sources (such as Open Food Facts), or for the accuracy of information users enter into the shared catalogue. The Provider’s liability is limited to the subscription fee you paid for the relevant period. This limitation does not remove rights arising from consumer protection law.

11. Termination

You can close your account at any time via Settings > Data & backup > Delete account. When the account is deleted, your data is permanently removed within the periods stated in the Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The Courts and Execution Offices of İstanbul have jurisdiction over disputes. As a consumer, your right to apply to Consumer Arbitration Committees and Consumer Courts is reserved.
